Behind the lens…
At events and sessions, I prefer a casual approach, with a bit of structure to harness the chaos. I do not overly pose moments, though I do offer a guiding hand and come well-equipped with a game plan based on years of experience. I work to find the best light, and if I cannot find it, I create it. I am flexible yet efficient. I want you to get the most out of your investment while making the experience an enjoyable one. I am grateful to be able to connect with people in a way that will last beyond the moment itself.
Beyond the lens...
When I am not photographing events or people, I am most likely chasing one of my pups. Sometimes known as the ‘crazy dog lady’ — it’s okay; I own it! — I tend to my pack of furbabies and donate my time to fostering for three different rescues. Let’s face it — I work for them, and they are very demanding. Pug hugs, sloppy kisses, and loads of tasty treats are on the agenda. I am extremely grateful to my clients not only for trusting me to capture their most priceless moments, but also for their support, making it possible for me to care for my pack, several of which are seniors and have special needs. I’m a sucker for the ‘misfits.’ I really believe that pets are family, too, so always feel free to include your furry (or scaly) friends during a session.
When I’m not chasing one of my puppers, I enjoy heading out on a hike or practicing yoga. But I only downward-dog in private because no one needs to see that! (A laughing emoji seems wildly appropriate here.) I love to laugh. I enjoy a good movie, if my attention span permits. And I consider the four major food groups to be sushi, ice-cream, coffee and dark chocolate. And a little Pinot Noir doesn't hurt either.
I get a kick out of swapping wedding-stories. I love a well-structured timeline; it appeases my need for meaningful organization and constant de-cluttering. I hate waste, including and especially wasting time. I think new moms are rock-stars and dads deserve the Best Supporting Actor award for life.
Randomly, there is a news anchor on the NBC Nightly News named Jose Diaz-Balart whose sign-off is “Thank you for the privilege of your time.” I love that! And I could not agree more. Best to you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
